Information About Participation in the QCF Poster Displays and the QCF Poster Session
What is a QCF Poster Display and QCF Poster Session?
This is a presentation by an individual or by a team of QCF results from a paper, project or report in a display throughout QCF Day.
How Can You Become a Presenter of a QCF Poster Display on QCF Day?
Read on.
Step 1.
This starts with one of the following
- a research paper, or
- a project report, or
- an independent study report, in the area of Quantitative and Computational Finance, from an individual or a team. This paper or report could have been an outcome from a QCF curriculum type class, from a Company project (with Company approval for presentation), or from independent study.
Step 2.
Each Poster Display consists of at least these two parts:
(1) copies of the paper or report (or at least relevant summaries), and
(2) display of results from the paper or report presented on a poster board display structure (supplied by QCF).
The display is a foamcore panel 32" high and 40" wide.
Optional: Other items, such as 'the presenter at a laptop', can be part of this Poster Display, at the presenter's discretion.
All poster presenter groups should discuss their ideas and materials with Dr. Deng. At least one individual from each presentation group should complete a registration for QCF DAY. Poster presentations may be made by individuals and teams attending QCF Day who have noteworthy QCF-related results to be presented to the QCF Day attendees.
Step 3.
If they are in the Atlanta region, the participating individuals and teams
should have their posters sent as a file to Harry Sharp before March 30, 2009.
If they are outside the Atlanta region, the participating individuals and
teams should bring their completed structures with them when they come to
Atlanta for QCF Day.
Step 4.
The QCF Poster Displays will be set up in the Global Learning and Conference
Center on QCF Day. Presenters must be present during the QCF Poster Session.
That's the game plan.
What are some incentives for your participation as presenters?
Incentives for becoming a QCF Poster Display presenter are
(1) presenting your results to the QCF community attending QCF DAY,
including the speakers, QCF practitioners in various organizations,
students in various QCF related programs of study and courses, and other attendees interested in QCF, and
(2) presenters will be listed at the QCF website, and
(3) other rewards?
